Wayne A. Stanton

Wayne A. Stanton March 10, 1960 – October 23, 2025 After a tough battle with multiple myeloma, Wayne A. Stanton, 65, of Center Conway, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. He grew up in Nutley, New Jersey. He graduated from Blair Academy in 1979. He attended Alfred University. Born on March 10, 1960, Wayne lived a life filled with kindness, humor, and a deep love for the outdoors. He worked in many roles throughout his life, including at the Wolfeboro Marina, Highwatch, Ragged Mountain Equipment, and The Nordic Skier An avid skier, hiker, backpacker, fisherman, photographer, and concert goer, Wayne found joy in nature and was proud to have completed the New Hampshire 48 and the New England 100 Highest peaks. He also enjoyed ham radio and spent many memorable years at Camp Kaybeum on Lake Winnipesaukee as both a camper and counselor. He was predeceased by his father Andrew Stanton, he is mother Sandra Horrell Stanton Watts, his step-father Thomas Watts, his brother in-law Paul Larochelle and sister-in-law Susan Gordon LaRochelle. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa LaRochelle Stanton; daughter, Michaela Stanton, and her husband, Carter Allen; father-in-law Donald LaRochelle of Wells, ME; brother-in-law Gary LaRochelle of Wells, ME; sister-in-law Jane Avery (Steve) of Old Orchard Beach, ME; brother-in-law Stephen LaRochelle (Lisa) of North Chelmsford, MA; sister-in-law Patti LaRochelle of South Portland, ME; and several nieces and nephews. We would like to express our gratitude to the oncology staff at Maine Health Memorial and Maine Health Portland, for their caring and support. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity, or please honor Wayne by hiking, skiing, or enjoying the outdoors in his memory.
