Virginia Gale (Meyer) Crane, 65, of East Conway, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and beloved wife passed June 8, 2012, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, in the hands, arms, and hearts of her immediate family. She sacrificed her entire life for her children, family and the needs of others.
Gale was born in Medford, Ma to Albert and Rita Meyer on September 20th, 1946. She was raised in Belmont, MA and Augusta, ME with her siblings Juanita Devaney, Marlene Patten, Jerry Meyer, and Jackie Sullivan. She graduated in 1964 from Belmont High and then attended St. Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, MA, graduating in 1967 as a registered nurse. She then married Capt. James Patrick Crane on May 1st, 1971 and moved to Sandwich, MA. There they raised their 4 children together Todd, twins Meghan Roberts and Heather, and their very special Sarah. Besides being a very devoted mother and wife, she also enjoyed spending time in her garden, boating and fishing, crafting her hand made wreaths, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. After her husband, Pat, retired from the Merchant Marines they retired to East Conway, NH. Gale is predeceased by her parents and sister Juanita. She leaves behind her husband, four children, five grandchildren, two sisters and brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on held Tuesday June 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Immediately following a "celebration of life" for family and friends to be held at Pat & Gale's home, 21 Country Drive, Center Conway, NH.
