Tobey Andrew Stackpole, beloved Dad, Papa, husband, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his home in Madison, NH, on November 18, 2024, at the age of 68. Tobey was born on November 2, 1956, in Somerville, MA, to the late Harold and Barbara Stackpole. He graduated from Salem High School and later obtained his CDL A license, pursuing his passion as a tractor-trailer driver. Tobey was a devoted husband to his wife, Michelle (Piche), whom he married in 1981. He was a loving father to his three children, Chad, Nicole, and Heidi and cherished his role as Papa to 7 grandchildren. Tobey took a leap of faith and moved his family to the White Mountains in 1985. Michelle, Chad, Nicole, and Heidi recall fond memories of spending time on the Saco River, Vacationing at Old Orchard Beach, and road trips to FL, to visit his late in-laws , Roger and Patricia Piche. An avid history enthusiast with a deep appreciation for antiques, Tobey often joked that he was “born in the wrong century.” He had the spirit of an old soul and a heart of gold. After retiring in October 2023, Tobey spent his days puttering around on his John Deere tractor, starting new projects, and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events. Tobey is predeceased by his parents, Harold F. Stackpole and Barbara L. (Ganon) Stackpole, and his brother, Kevin Stackpole. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Stackpole, Madison NH; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Cheri Stackpole, Silver Lake NH; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Will Hardin Conway NH; daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Nick Thomas, Silver Lake, NH; his seven grandchildren, Isaac, Evan, Micah, Hayden, Talon, Caleb, Harlee, his 3 siblings, Joel, Karen, and Judy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tobey’s presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and his memory will forever be cherished. A funeral service will be held at Furber and White Funeral Home 2925 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH 03860 , November 25th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A burial will be followed on November 26th at 11:00 AM at Chocorua Cemetery Deer Hill Road, Chocorua, NH 03817 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Madison Recreation Department or Madison Food Pantry.
