Thomas James Bryant Jr. Tom was born on November 23, 1938 at Morton Hospital in Taunton Massachusetts to parents Thomas J. Bryant Sr. and Mary Benaski Bryant. Tom has two siblings, Joan Mitchell of Lancaster, Massachusetts and Andrew Bryant of Norton, Massachusetts. Tom graduated from Norton High School in 1956. After graduation, Tom joined the United States Navy. Tom served in the Navy from 1956-1960. Tom was the second youngest enlisted man in the Navy to make second class petty officer in only two years. Tom served on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier. He enjoyed his time in the Navy, particularly the 9 months he spent in the Far East. Upon returning home to Norton, Tom married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen “Kay” Sullivan. Tom and Kay had four Children. The late, Thomas J. Bryant III, David Bryant of Norton, Massachusetts, Steven Bryant of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and Karen Bryant Connolly of Somersworth, New Hampshire. Tom has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. While in Norton, Tom served as a Town Selectman for 6 years. After discharge from the Navy, Tom worked for the Foxboro Company, located in Foxboro, Massachusetts. His first job was in Engineering support. Tom spent his entire professional career at the Foxboro Company concluding his career as the Director of Human Resources responsible for national and international Human Resources operations. Tom retired in 1999 after 40 years at Foxboro and moved to Conway NH in 2000 with his wife, Kathleen Tom attended Wentworth Institute and graduated from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration In Conway, Tom served as Chairman of the pastoral council of Our Lady of the Mountain Church. Tom also was a volunteer for the US Forest Service at the Saco Ranger Station in North Conway for many years. Tom was also a member and treasurer of the Conway historical society. Tom enjoyed skiing and golfing. In his later years, Tom also enjoyed traveling with his wife Kay. Tom and Kay visited Russia, Italy, Alaska, Hawaii, and took a European River Cruise. Finally, over several weeks, Tom and Kay drove through every state in the continental United States. Tom loved his family and enjoyed the gatherings of the family during the holidays and special occasions. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Arrangements were made through Furber Funeral and Cremations Services. Visiting hours will be held at Furber Funeral home Sunday September 15th 2-4 pm. With a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mountains Monday the 16th at 11:00am. A burial will be held Tuesday the 17th at 11:00 am at the timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton MA.
