Suzanne Hill Obituary

Suzanne (Sue) Marie Dubois Hill passed away suddenly on November 11th at the age of 63, in North Conway New Hampshire. Sue was born on March 15, 1962 in Danvers Massachusetts to her loving parents Albert Henri Dubois and Christine Marie Harris. Sue was so proud to be their daughter. Sue and Jon were married at the Little White Church in Eaton, NH on October 26, 1986. At the time, their Horse Feather friends took a bet at how long it would last. Boy, did it last. Together they built a family, raising five children over 39 years of what can only be described as a bit of chaos and lots of love. Sue and Jon welcomed endless people into their home, hearts, and couch. Their compassion and love for God was evident in how they treated everyone they met - with kindness. As her children grew older, Sue became their very best friend and the loveliest Nana in the entire world. Recently, when asked who her favorite person was, she said Jon - because all of her favorite people came from the life they built together. He was her best friend. Sue can only be described as a passionate life long learner. Following in the tradition of her parents, Sue was a teacher. Her career began at home with her children where she homeschooled for ten years. Inspired by her mother’s passing, she decided to officially become an educator in 2000. With a lot of experience under her belt, she tested out of almost an entire bachelors degree at White Mountain Community College. After two years, she received with high honours, receiving an award Outstanding Achievement in Science. In 2003, she graduated from University or Southern Maine with a Masters of Education. Sue worked as a classroom teacher and special educator at both C.A. Snow School in Fryeburg, Maine and Pine Tree Elementary, in Conway New Hampshire, where she touched the lives of hundreds of children. In addition to her work within the school districts Sue lovingly taught children’s church for many, many years. Sue’s was passion for sports was always strong, especially softball. From Beverly High School to the local women’s league - she was a fierce first basemen. Her love of sports was something both she and Jon extended to their children over many, many mosquito seasons of Rec league, middle school and high school games. Sue’s love of children and all things sports was especially evident within the softball community - From the Fryeburg Rockers, MWV Blend, Fryeburg Academy Softball, Junior Maine Blackbears, Seton Hall and the University of Maine - Sue invested countless hours coaching, keeping a flawless score book, catching fast balls and feeding girls during batting practice in the backyard. Her dedication to excellence, was contagious to all the players lucky enough to be under her wing. Every spring Sue looked forward to NCAA softball championships. Sue will be remembered as a compassionate, kind, stable force of love for everyone who entered her orbit. Sue had a special way of making everyone she interacted with feeling seen. Her practice of non-judgement created a safe space for so many. Sue was love. Sue enjoyed laughter, real crime television, reading, word games, kitchen dancing, cribbage, bowling, and trips to the beach. Most of all - Sue cherished spending time with family and friends. Sue is survived by her loving husband Jon, her mother-in-law Arlene, her sisters and brothers Shari, Michael, Lynn, Lorri and Bill, her children Abby, J.D., Dani, Hannah, and Nathan, the out-laws Ben, Meghan, Ulrik an in d Kat her grandchildren Maya, Sawyer, Piper, Arlene, Caleb, Axel Sol and Lainey, bonus children Silas and Abbie, nieces and nephews Halerie, Dylan, Brittany, Tyler, Sam, Zachary, Molly and Alison.
