Rose K. LaHive, 91, of Center Conway died January 11, 2011 at her home following a long illness. Born in Oceanside, Long Island, NY, the daughter of James and Margaret (Bowes) Foster. She moved to Quincy in the 1930's and married Paul LaHive in 1943. Following her husband's death in 1991 she lived with her daughter Karen until 2004 and then with her daughter Patricia, moving to New Hampshire in 2007.
Rose was a homemaker, a devoted wife and mother and she traveled to many states and countries, as she loved to travel with her daughter Karen.
Mrs. LaHive loved golf, tennis, gardening and playing bridge.
The family includes three daughters, Patricia A. Kerins of Center Conway, NH, Susan K. Columbus of Weymouth, MA and Dr. Karen C. LaHive of South Natick, MA; a son, Dr. James LaHive of Sharon, MA; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held in the Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy, MA. A celebration of her life will be in the summer.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
