Robert Evans Orfant (Dad, Papa, Pa, Big Bob) left this world for his next cosmic journey on August 27, 2012. He was welcomed by his mother Gladys Orfant, brother Daniel Orfant, sister Elizabeth Collison, and grandson Daniel Quinlan. He leaves behind a brother William Orfant. Bob will be dearly missed by his children daughter Mary Quinlan, daughter Sheila Goodwin, son Robert M. Orfant, son-in-law Timothy Quinlan, son-in-law David Goodwin, and daughter-in-law Lindsay Orfant. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren Tobias, Theresa, Marianne, Kory, Patrick, Calah, Brendan, Andrew, and Chantal, two great-granddaughters Claire, Olivia, and a third great-granddaughter, (Grace due in October), as well as countless loyal K-9's. Above all, he leaves behind his loving partner-in-crime of over 50 years, Stella.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Bob was a graduate of Boston Latin High School, attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, and served in United States Marine Corp. Robert and his wife, Stella, lived in Newburyport, Massachusetts for over 26 years until 1986, when they relocated to North Conway, New Hampshire.
A master of all trades and a jack of none, Bob's knowledge was endless. He was a gifted woodworker, electrician, plumber, aviator technician, and ocean navigator. In his leisure time, Bob was a self-taught economist, insightful political analyst and artful humorist.
Bob's tough exterior masked his huge heart and he was a master craftsman and teller of truths. He took great pride in providing and caring for all of his family members. His quick-witted humor and lively antics will always be etched in the memories of his loved ones. His life touched and uplifted so many through his generosity, hard work, and love.
Above all else, he laid the building blocks of success for his children and grandchildren it is easier to reach the stars when standing on the shoulders of giants. Though he has begun a new adventure, his energy will always be felt by those wh
