Robert King SR. Obituary

Robert (Bob) Joseph King Sr, of Madison New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on January 2nd, 2025. Bob was born in North Conway to Edna (Webster) King and John King and lived his entire life in the Mount Washington Valley. He was an avid sportsman in his youth and spent much of his time hunting and fishing with his cousins, brothers and his uncles. Upon graduating from Kennett High School in 1965, Bob enlisted in the US Army, where he proudly served as a Military Policeman in the New England military bases at Brunswick and Devens. He returned to the valley in the early 70’s, where he became a lathe worker at Kearsarge Metallurgical until its closing in 1982. Bob then became a Pewtersmith with Hampshire Pewter, crafting beautiful pieces such as Christmas ornaments, candlestick holders and steins for the next 30 years. Bob also fulfilled the needs of his growing family by taking on a newspaper delivery route (on top of his full-time job), to which he worked 364 days per year for 13 straight years, delivering the Conway Daily Sun and Union Leader in Conway, North Conway, and Madison regions. Upon retirement, he was able to enjoy the finer parts of life, including frequent vacations with the love of his life Tina, and taking up golf at the suggestion of his sons. Bob went on to defeat his sons, quite handily, in every golf match they played together over the next decade. He also enjoyed his outings with his “ROMEO” friends (Retired Old Men Eating Out) at various restaurants throughout the valley. Bob will forever be lovingly remembered as a devout family man who held a sharp wit and enjoyed long conversations over a campfire with a fine cigar and glass of scotch. He treasured his children, his grandchildren, his wife and especially his dog, Charlie. He was predeceased by his father John in 1982, mother Edna King of Conway, NH in 1992, his brother Bruce in 1982 and John “Sonny” King in 2011 as well as his sister Elaine Yeaton in 2005. Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Tina King, of Madison, NH; his daughters, Jennifer King and son Hunter Sias of Concord, NH, Sarah King and fiancé Joshua Cincotta and sons Gavin Charles, Jameson Cincotta and daughter Melody Cincotta of New Gloucester, Maine; his sons Robert Jr and wife Jessie Dubuque and children Hannah King, Morgan Dubuque, Alexander King and Elliana King of Tamworth, and Jonathan and wife Crystal King and children Logan Ray, Jackson King and Ashton King of Rochester, NH. Visiting hours will be held at Furber & White funeral home on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm and funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in North Conway, New Hampshire on Friday, January 10th at 10:30am EST.
