Richard Hartford Sr. Obituary

Richard Jenness Hartford SR (54) was born on August 25th, 1971 in Rochester, New Hampshire and passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with a heart condition at his home on March 31st, 2026 in Conway, New Hampshire. Richard was originally from New Hampshire and spent his life surrounded by the outdoors he loved so much. He truly enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time in nature, the simple life. Some of his favorite fishing spots included Edelweiss, Milton Three Ponds, Willand Pond, Conway Lake, and Merrymeeting Lake. Richard SR was a hardworking man who spent decades as a carpenter, working on projects throughout the Conway region and all across the state. He also worked as a truck driver, traveling across many states during his career in a job he loved so much as well. Richard SR loved and cherished his family deeply. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandson, family and friends, creating memories that will last forever. One of his favorite traditions was going to the Fryeburg Fair in Maine with his kids, grandson, and loved ones all throughout his life. He also loved going to yard sales with his ex mother in law Ann Stanton. Richard Hartford SR had a special place in his heart for animals. He loved his dog Buddy, who was a part of the family for many years, and many other pets, to include Buddy’s sister Tia and his roommate’s dog Lola as well. Richard Hartford SR was predeceased by his daughter Kayla Hartford, his father James Hartford; mother Barbara Thompson; his stepfather Clifton Thompson; his brothers Jamie Hartford and Brian Hartford, brother in law Arthur Smith, niece Roxanne Cook, and nephew Stacy Cook, ex mother in law Ann Stanton. Richard Hartford SR is survived by his eldest son Richard Jenness Hartford JR, his youngest daughter Brittany Ann Hartford, his beloved grandson Noah; and his sister Barbara Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly, including his ex-wife Christi Hartford, BJ Parker, his Country Pickers work friends, and his friends Bill, Cindy, Gayle, Mike, Linda, Ron, and Steve. Before his passing, he accomplished everything that he wanted to in life and finally found peace. He left proud of his kids and grandson who he cherished the most in this world. Richard Hartford SR will forever be in our hearts and prayers. May he rest easy with his daughter Kayla now and may they both continue to watch over all of us. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 In Loving Memory of, Richard Jenness Hartford SR August 25th, 1971 – March 31st, 2026
