Penelope Kimball Obituary

Penelope Louise Kimball (Richardson), 81, of Conway, NH, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 20, 1944, in Conway, NH, she was the daughter of the late George A. Richardson and Bernice L. (Merrill) Richardson. She graduated from Kennett High School with the Class of 1962. In 1966, Penny married the love of her life, Richard M. Kimball, sharing a devoted marriage built on love, loyalty, and family. He predeceased her in 2008, as did her beloved great-grandson, Jacoby Erick Norman Danforth, along with six brothers and two sisters. Penny leaves behind a family who meant everything to her: her son, Douglas L. Kimball of Conway, NH; her daughter, Angela M. Caplette and her husband, David G. Caplette, of Conway, NH; and her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Littlefield and his companion Lisa Barbour of Eaton, NH; Jade Danforth and her companion Jordan Schaub of Fryeburg, ME; and David J. Caplette and his companion Torii Martin of Newmarket, NH. Along with many other beloved family and friends. Her greatest pride and joy were her great-grandchildren—Mylah, Jeffrey, Meeyah, Charlie, Alexianna, Bentley, Sinn-Carter, Jace, Greyson, and Ryker—who lovingly knew her as “Gidgee,” a name that meant comfort, warmth, and unconditional love. Penelope began her career at Birchcraft, where she met Richard in 1962. During his service in the United States Army, she lived in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a secretary for the FBI. She later returned home to Conway and continued her work at Birchcraft, later known as The Yield House, dedicating over 35 years there. She went on to work at JCPenney for 20 years, retiring in 2020 when the store closed. She was known throughout her life as a dedicated and hardworking woman. Above all else, Penny was a woman of deep love and quiet strength. She found happiness in the simple moments—sitting outside watching the birds and squirrels, enjoying a good book, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her whole world, and she gave them endless love, kindness, and compassion. She will be remembered as a truly one-of-a-kind woman—warm, caring, and selfless—whose presence made others feel at home. The love she gave so freely will live on in all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held by the family later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice, 1549 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH 03860. Forever loved, forever missed, and always in our hearts.
