Pauline Merrill Obituary


Pauline W. Merrill, 86, of Intervale died suddenly October 25, 2009. Born in Conway, the daughter of Leland and Nina (Hiscock) Wade, she was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Washington Valley.

She graduated from Plymouth Teachers College and was a retired Elementary School Teacher, having taught over twenty years at the Kenneth A. Brett Elementary School in Tamworth.

Mrs. Merrill was a member of the NH Retired Teachers Association, a former member of the Grange, a member of the Conway Village Congregational Church in Conway and a former Sunday School Teacher.

She had also been a very active volunteer of the South Tamworth United Methodist Church.

The family includes four daughters, Susan M. Stickney and her husband Craig of Chesterville, ME, Priscilla E. Merrill and her companion Brian Meserve of Fryeburg, ME, Bonnie L. White and her husband Joel of Dalton and Melody M. Sawyer of Intervale; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 31, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway with the Rev. Murray Nickerson, officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one's choice.
