Marie A. Kelly, 90, passed away Sunday September 9, 2012 at Mineral Springs Nursing Care with her family by her side.
She was born in Cranston, RI, daughter of Giuseppee and Francesca LanFredi. In 1942 she entered the U. S. Army in Massachusetts. It was there she met her husband Howard Kelley. They were married on the army base in 1945 and went to Jackson, NH on their honeymoon and decided to make their home there and raise a family. Howard came from Jackson. She and her husband were married for 49 years.
Marie worked for Black Mt. Ski Area ticket sales for a long time. She also was a store clerk for many places in the Valley; her last being at Cannell's Store in Intervale for 25 years where she retired from in 1998. She and her husband spent many summers traveling with their RV camper from Prince Edward Island in Canada to the Midwest, Florida and around NH.
Marie loved flowers an enjoyed working with them. She was an award winning avid gardener who got her start from her family's florist and nursery in RI. She also loved to play bingo with many friends wherever she went.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughter Fran Henry and husband Fred of Jackson. A grandson Jay Henry and wife Tami of Jackson, 2 great granddaughters, Marissa Henry, 10 and Jozelyn Henry, 8 of Jackson and her beloved grand dogs. She was predeceased by her grandson Rick, 5 of Nebraska in 1975 and her husband Howard in 1994.
Marie wished for a private graveside service to be held in the Jackson Cemetery along side her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Jackson Firefighters Association, PO Box 329, Jackson, NH 03846, in her memory.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
