Malcolm Noyes Obituary


Malcolm C. Noyes, 86, of Conway died August 12, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a lengthy illness. Born in Newburyport, MA, the son of Rupert and Marion (Currier) Noyes. He had lived in Atkinson, N.H. for several years prior to moving to the Mt. Washington Valley.

Malcolm was a US Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines and Japan.

He joined the NH State Police in 1957, was the first officer to have a K9 dog, Eric, with the state police and he retired as a sergeant in 1980. Mr. Noyes also worked as a security officer at the Mountain Valley Mall, as a security officer and bailiff at the Carroll County Superior Court House and he spent two years at Storyland in Glen, which he enjoyed so much.

He was a member of North Conway American Legion Post # 95 in North Conway and Francis P. Murphy V.F.W. Post # 5386 in Bartlett.

He attended the First Baptist Church in North Conway and he and his wife wintered in Florida and attended Sonshine Christian Fellowship Church in Lake Placid, FL.

Malcolm also enjoyed traveling with his motor home and had visited all of the states and the provinces in Canada except Hawaii. He enjoyed all the fellowship and friends he and Jackie made from being a member of the Winnebago Clubs.

The family includes his wife of 43 years, Jackie (Young) Noyes of Conway; three sons, Clifton Noyes and his wife Sandra of Auburn, Paul Noyes of Hillsboro and Curtis Gordon of Glen; six daughters, Beth Kelly and her husband Paul of Hillsboro, Marcia Brothers of Tamworth, Jean Garland and her husband Joe of Hillsboro, Ruth Johnson and her husband John of Norton, VT, Cheryl Vien and her husband Peter and Cathryn Burke and her husband Curt, all of North Conway; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters Marilyn Noyes of Bryant Pond, ME and Carol Strand of Williamsport, PA; a brother-in-law, Ward Young and his wife Audrey of Sarasota, FL and five nieces and nephews.
