Mabel Bennett

Mabel Bennett, 85 years old of North Conway, NH, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Mineral Springs of North Conway in North Conway, NH. Mabel is survived by her son, Phillip of Tamworth, NH; her beloved granddaughter, Clare Bennett of Madison; her daughter-in-law Kathy Bennett of Madison and daughter Sandra Lynn Marasco of Greenland, NH.

Mabel was born in Swampscott, MA in 1924 and spent her childhood in Rochester, NH with her parents Odena and Clarence Pierce. She graduated from Spaulding High School Class of 1941 in Rochester, NH and recently attended her 68-year reunion this summer. After graduating from High School she moved to Lynn, Mass. where she attended the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with an R.N. in 1945.

Mabel worked at Lynn Hospital after graduated for over 40 years as an OB/GYN nurse, and was head nurse in the obstetrics ward for many years. Not long after retiring, Mabel became a grandmother and spent her retirement years helping care for her only granddaughter Clare.

Mabel relocated to North Conway with her son and his family in 2002 and greatly enjoyed returning to her childhood home of New Hampshire and spending time with her family.

At her request, there was no service or memorial but donations can be made in her name to the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Cancer Society. For more information, call 603-356-3719.
