Louise Hackett Obituary

Louise Ann (LeFebvre) Hackett, formerly of South Boston, Massachusetts, Hanover, New Hampshire, and a resident of North Conway since 1987, peacefully passed away on September 4, 2010, following a long period of declining health, while a resident of Mineral Springs Rehabilitation Center.
Louise, born on September 21, 1925, was the beloved only daughter of James and Alice Benson, both of South Boston, who provided her with the love and firm guidance so essential to her future success. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy, she elected to attend the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, where she excelled academically, graduating from the college in 1945 with Valedictorian rank, the first woman so honored in the history of the college.
After a lengthy courtship, Louise married the man she often described as the "love of her life", Ralph Joseph LeFebvre, and they proceeded, over the course of the next twenty years, to establish a truly model marriage, while each maintained successful careers. This example set a high standard for their only son James, one which he has sought to maintain in his marriage to his beloved Cynthia. Unfortunately, Louise's and Ralph's time together was cut short by his untimely death on February 5, 1969, when he was just 59 years young.
Following Ralph's demise, Louise entered into a period where she concentrated on her career while providing Jim with the same love and clear guidance she had received from her parents. While her career experienced highs and lows, ending in late 1975 following a crippling injury, her parental skills and willingness to sacrifice provided her son with the opportunity to establish a successful military and private sector career.
Louise was granted another chance at happiness by Providence when her old college sweetheart, Joseph John Hackett, came back into her life following the demise of his wife Eleanor. Following their 1987 marriage, they decided to establish a retirement home in North Conway. O
