Leslie Tilton Obituary


Leslie H. Tilton, 58, of Conway died July 30, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a sudden illness. Born in Franklin, NH, the son of Leslie J. and Maregueritte (Truchon) Tilton, he grew up in Franklin and lived in Belmont for five years and in Oklahoma and Tamwoth before moving to Conway in 1999.
He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Mt. Washington Valley Old Car Club. His current work in progress was his 1954 American LaFrance Fire Truck. He lived for his "Golden Oldies" music and was the D.J. for area car shows and cruise nights.
Many a weekday morning Les could be found at "Sid's and Carol's" for his other cup of coffee with the guys and gals.
The family includes his wife Nancy L. Tilton of Conway; five sons, Michael Tilton of Oklahoma, Tim Tilton of Clarksville, In, David Tilton and his wife Lisa of North Glenn, CO, Kevin Tilton and his wife Jess of Conway and Andy Tilton and his wife Lea of Fryeburg, ME; his mother, Margueritte White of Ossipee; two grandsons; four sister, Patricia Frost of Andover, Priscilla Wolf of Kenai, AK, Carol Guyotte of Laconia and Frances Hyslop of Farmington and Several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday August 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mtns. Church in North Conway. There will be no visiting hours.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
