Leslie R. Atkins of Glen passed away peacefully at Mineral Springs in North Conway after a brief stay for recuperation and rehab. He was born in Haverhill, MA in 1921 and was the son of William and Myrtle (Woodworth) Atkins who were long time residents of Saugus, MA.
Leslie entered the Navy in the early 40's and after his discharge became a sales engineer at the West Lynn General Electric until his retirement in 1983. He also was a graduate of the Bentley School of Accounting.

He belonged to the North Conway Country Club and Wentworth Hall Golf Course for many years and in the late 90's and early 2000's joined the PGA National Golf Course in Lake Worth, Florida in the winter.
He is survived by his brother, Richard C. Atkins of Wakefield, MA and his sister, Lorene M. Birch of Quincy, MA as well as several nieces and nephews and their children and faithful friend and aide, Charlotte Linde of Glen.
He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph, in 1943, Eldred in 2000 and his sister, Bernice Hosking in 2009 and brother, Robert, this year. Visiting hours will be held Saturday June 16, 2012 at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway from 3 to 5 p.m. followed immediately by a service of pray and fond memories of a really good gentleman.
