Leo D. Sabina Chocorua, New Hampshire January 17, 1942 - November 18, 2025 Leo Domingos Sabina, a beloved resident of Chocorua, passed away in peace and surrounded by love on November 18th, 2025. Leo’s life could be an award-winning novel. He was born January 17th, 1942, the third of four children to Domingos B. Sabina and Belmira Fontes in the village of Lages on the island of Pico in the Azores of Portugal. He met the love of his life and soulmate in Portugal, Maria L. Vieira. They were separated when they immigrated to the United States and Canada, but wrote to one another, never losing touch. Their love went across the ocean and in February 1963 they were married. They soon after welcomed two beautiful sons, Carlos and James, and began their life as a family. Bringing up his family in East Providence, Rhode Island, Leo spent his days providing for his family, involving himself in his community, and spending time with those he loved. In 1985 he moved to New Hampshire to begin his entrepreneurial adventures. With the purchase of Dunkin Donuts, Followed by the purchase of Community Market and Deli. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Leo, including his employees, fellow parishioners, and friends, knew that he considered them as family. Not only did he enjoy spending time with those he loved, but he also enjoyed gardening and caring for the growth of new life. His softness and tenderness came with the birth of his two granddaughters, also referred to as his angels, Sadie and Sophia. Leo adored his granddaughters and always made sure to take care of them and teach them the important lessons in life. Leo will be joining his predeceased sisters Juvenalia Sabina Fontes and Maria DaSilva. Leo also leaves behind his Bichon Frise, Steve, who was his loyal and constant companion for the past 6 years. He is survived by his brother Manuel Sabino, wife Maria, children, Carlos and James, and his two grandchildren; Sadie and Sophia. Along with two Nieces in California, one sister-in-law Mary in RI, two Nephews in Ri and four nephews in Canada. Although Leo’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to uplift and inspire us. May his memory be a blessing and reminder to carry forth in living our lives in Christ and love. The viewing will be held on November 25th at the Furber and White Funeral Home 2925 White Mt. Highway North Conway, New Hampshire from 4-6pm. Mass will be held on November 26th at 1:00pm at Our Lady of The Mountains 2905 White Mt. Highway North Conway, New Hampshire. The burial will be Saturday November 29th at Perry-McStay Funeral Home 2555 Pawtucket Ave East Providence Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that any sympathies be offered as donation to the Parish of Our Lady of The Mountains.
