Larry E. Stanley, 64, of Center Conway passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack January 10, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in North Conway. Born in Hiram, Maine on September 3, 1948, the son of Fulton and Ruth (Eastman) Stanley, he attended Porter High School. Larry served as an aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War and spent over thirty years as a truck driver for various companies delivering goods both locally and across the country.
He married Roberta J. Merchant on December 9, 1978, in Parsonsfield, ME, and they lived there for the next 20 years until moving to the Conway area in 1998.
Larry loved watching movies and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his younger days he could be found rebuilding old cars or cruising around on his motorcycle.
The family includes his wife of 34 years, Roberta J. Stanley of Center Conway; a son, Jason L. Stanley of North Conway; two daughters, Jessica L. Fredericks and her husband Troy of Buxton, ME and Laci Stanley of Center Conway; two grandsons, James and Jackson Fredericks, both of Buxton; a brother, Robert F. Stanley and his wife Joyce of Skowhegan, ME and a sister, Joanne R. Varney of Barnstead.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 19, 2013 at 1100 a.m. in the Center Conway United Methodist Church with Pastor Sue Davidson, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Cornish, ME later in the spring.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
