Kathleen M. Stevens

Kathleen Marie Dahl Stevens June 6, 1950 – July 4, 2026 God called Kathleen back to Heaven after a courageous 16-month journey with cancer. She passed peacefully at her home in Oakwood Heights on Davis Hill in Center Conway, free from pain and surrounded by her loving family. Our family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care Kathleen received from the Oncology staff at Memorial Hospital throughout three rounds of chemotherapy. We are especially thankful for the exceptional care and comfort provided by Carroll County Hospice during her final days at home. Kathleen grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, with her mother, Grace Dahl, and her grandparents, Domenic and Josephine Bellia. She attended St. Patrick's High School in Washington, D.C. True to her nature, Kathleen formed deep and lasting friendships that remained an important part of her life long after she left the Washington DC area. In the 1980s, Kathleen embraced a new adventure by relocating to the Mount Washington Valley. She began her career at Colonial Mortgage, where she helped many families realize their dream of homeownership. Later, while working at the Eastern Slope Inn, she built friendships that flourished for decades through her love of the outdoors. She was an enthusiastic member of the women's hiking group, a proud Mountain Meister, and enjoyed countless ski trips "with the girls." She also became one of the cherished "Gemini Triplets," three lifelong friends who gathered every June to celebrate their birthdays together. It was in the Valley that Kathleen met the man she lovingly called "the love of my life." She married Ed Stevens on June 19, 1999, at the former Our Lady of the Mountains Church. Shortly afterward, they moved to their home on Memory Lane in Bridgton, Maine. Never one to stop learning, Kathleen returned to school and became a Licensed Esthetician. She fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening her own skincare and body treatment business, Kathleen of Bridgton. She treasured every moment of serving her clients, and even years after her retirement, many still remembered her warm, caring professionalism and the way they always left Kathleen's with "the Glow." As an only child, Kathleen often wished she had brothers and sisters. Through her marriage, she found exactly that. Ed's family of five siblings embraced her as one of their own, and she treasured those relationships throughout her life. Kathleen brought light and love into the world with her radiant smile and bright green eyes. Her deep spirituality enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was an active and devoted member of the recovery communities in both the Mount Washington Valley and western Maine. Over her many decades of recovery, she became, "responsible for the well-being" of the many women she was honored to sponsor and mentor. Her faith also found expression through devoted service. At both St. Joseph's Church in Bridgton and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fryeburg, Kathleen's relationship with God deepened through her involvement in parish life. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, helped revitalize the Social Justice and Peace Commission, and generously shared her heart and hands through the Hospitality Commission. 1 Today, Kathleen's love lives on through all who were blessed to know her. Her life reminds us to say yes to the callings of our hearts, to serve others with compassion, and to step confidently into the light. Kathleen is survived by her devoted Husband, his siblings,  her nieces and nephews  and her cousins both here and in Italy. The viewing will be at Furber Funeral Services, 2025 White Mountain Highway, North Conway on Sunday July 12 from 3-5 PM The Funeral Mass will be held a St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 857 Main St, Fryeburg  Maine on Monday July 13 at 11am with a reception in the Parish Hall to immediately follow.
