KATHLEEN M. JAMES Kathleen M. James, of North Conway, NH, died on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, after a long illness. She was born March 22nd, 1933, in Bartlett, NH to Herbert W. Burke and Anna B. Burke, both deceased. She grew up in North Conway. Mrs. James was educated in local schools, graduating from Kennett High School in 1951, and the Central Maine General School of X-Ray Technology in 1953. She worked as an X-Ray technician at various hospitals. Later in her career, she worked for Dr. William G Duprey, Dr. Dorothy Davies and Dr. Miles E. Waltz, in their offices on Pine Street in North Conway. Before retiring in 1988, Kathleen worked as a medical transcriptionist in the Department of Radiology at Memorial Hospital, for 12 years. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, R. Warren James, in 2006. She was also predeceased by her five brothers Herbert W. Burke, Thomas Burke, Gordon T. Burke, Willim and Stephen R. Burke, her six sisters Geneva Adjutant, Evelyn Marshall, Margaret Grant, Opal Scaletti, Anne Ruel and Janet Sanphy, as well as her son-in-law Michael P. Briggs. She is survived by her daughter Belinda L. Briggs and her estranged daughter Beth K. James, her grandchildren Russell W. Gillette and Danielle A. Briggs and many nieces and nephews. There will be a service at Furber Funeral Home on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at 11am followed by a graveside service at Kearsarge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in her memory.
