Judith (Judy) Ann Neumann Seddon, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH. Born on January 31, 1940, Judy is survived by her husband David, her son’s family David, Hollye, Audrey, and Macuillian, her daughter’s family Alison, Tim, Caitlin, and Brianna, her beloved dog Lilah, and many relatives and great friends who were dear to her. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur and her mother Ann. Judy attended Colby College in Waterville, ME where she majored in English, was a sister of Sigma Kappa, and met her future husband David. Judy later graduated from the University of Connecticut where she majored in English. Judy continued her graduate studies at Montclair State University earning multiple Master’s degrees. Her teaching days began in Lawton, OK though the majority of her career was spent teaching English at River Dell Junior High School in River Edge, NJ. Judy’s love for literature and reading fueled her passion for teaching. In May 1991, Judy received the New Jersey’s Governor of Excellence Recognition award in teaching. Upon retirement, Judy and David decided to move year-round to their beloved home in Center Conway, NH where Judy served on the Board of Trustees for the Conway Public Library and was a member of the Mountain Garden Club and local community book clubs. Family and friends will fondly remember Judy’s meticulous ability to plan family gatherings, vacations, her beautiful flower and herb gardens, her passion for early American antiques, literature, and love of travel. Our family thanks Nicole and the staff of Timberland Home Care; nurses and staff at Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice of Carroll County and Western Maine who cared for Judy over the past few years and Cheryl, doctors, nurses, and staff at Memorial Hospital who kept Judy peaceful while in hospice care. Per Judy’s wish no formal services will be held.
