It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Fountain, 83, of Mineral Springs North Conway, on April 28 after a lengthy illness surrounded by family at her side. Born and raised in Lynn Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Edith Tolan. Judy graduated from Lynn English High School in 1961 and worked as a bank teller until 1966, when she met and married James “Jim” Fountain and became a homemaker while raising their two daughters. In1987, she went back to school to receive her teacher’s assistant certificate and enjoyed many years to follow in the Lynn education system. Summers were spent at Pine Knoll Campground in Albany, NH, where many lifelong friendships were made. In those days Judy would be found on the beach with her daughters or out on her rowboat picking blueberries on Lake Iona. After she retired, she and Jim moved to Silver Lake, NH and wintered in Florida. Judy liked to read, play iPad games, do crosswords & sudoku, watch her favorite Red Sox, sew, go camping, beaching and swimming. She took pride in caring for her grandchildren Krystina, Jennifer and Danielle Vizard and Dante and Damon Maribito and her step grandchildren Taylor and Kaylie Golding. Jim and Judy spent 51 years of marriage together before Jim’s passing in 2017. Judy leaves behind her daughters, Kathleen Golding and her husband Matthew of Albany, NH, and her daughter Ann Maribito and her husband Walter of Georgetown, MA. Judy was predeceased by her sister Linnea. She leaves behind several brothers and sisters in law in addition to several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of life and love for her family. She will deeply be missed. Visiting hours will be on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 am with a service at 12:00 pm to be held at the Furber Funeral home 2925 White Mountain Highway, North Conway. Interment will follow the service at the Gilman Cemetery, East Madison Rd. Madison, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory can be made to The Nolan Room, c/o Mineral Springs Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing, 1251 White Mtn Highway, North Conway, NH 03860.
