John MacIver Bryant Sr. (Poppy), 67, of Redstone NH passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born December 6th, 1957, in North Conway at Memorial Hospital to Robert H. Bryant and Marion L. MacIver Bryant. He attended Kennett High School up until he started working for the family business. Since a young age John had always had a special talent and interest in mechanics. He worked for many different people within the Valley and throughout New Hampshire doing what he loved most. He worked for Garland Lumber driving trucks from the late 70’s up until the early 80’s. John and his brother Nobby worked along side each other running the family business Bob Bryant’s Wrecker Service from the early 80’s up until the late 90’s. He then went to go onto work for Ossipee Aggregates in Ossipee, NH for the last 25 years of his life. John worked his way to become the shop foreman and held that position until his retirement. Even after his retirement he still continued to work for Ossipee Aggregates up until his death. He made many lifelong friends throughout his working days that he cherished greatly. His time was spent well with people he loved. Anywhere he went John would always see someone he knew and would talk with them and share stories. He was always able to make a friend no matter where he was or what he was doing. He enjoyed telling stories from his childhood and throughout the years of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed helping everyone with repairing a multitude of many different motorized vehicles. Anything that had an engine he knew how to fix. In his spare time you could always find him at the garage tinkering on something or just simply hanging out and telling stories from his life adventures. John cherished his family and those he considered friends. If you knew him you knew he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He was always willing to lend a hand with anything and was overjoyed when people would ask him for help, he would take the time and show you exactly what you needed to know even if he didn’t have the time for it. Anything and everything he was able to fix wether it was a vehicle, plumbing, or even directions, he always had the answer. If you needed help John was there, no matter the time, no matter what you were doing. John enjoyed many differtent activities over the years. He loved Nascar, he drove haulers for Skoal Bandit Racing in his free time, he loved Dale Earnhardt Sr. and memorabilia. He also enjoyed traveling throughout New England and Canada with his wife on their Harleys. He was an avid fisherman throughout his life and deeply enjoyed going deep sea fishing with family and friends in his later years. His favorite past time was spoiling his grandkids, buying them each and every thing they could ask for. If his grandkids wanted something he would do his damndest to get it for them. He was better known as Poppy to his close family and friends from the nickname his granddaughter Mariah gave him at a young age. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Patricia A. (Watson) Bryant, their children; Heather M. Bryant and John M. Bryant Jr, grandchildren; Mariah M. Bryant and Conner M. Gaudette; his siblings Matthew Bryant, Becky Dewitt (Carl), Rhoda Quint (Bernie), Kathy Garland, Debbie Jones, and Melissa Bryant; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Marion L. MacIver Byant and Robert H. Bryant, his brothers, Weldon, Richard, Lawrence, Robert and Roderick Bryant and his sister Marion Bryant Paquette; grandchildren Micheal M. McGrath.
