James Kenneth Yamartino Jr
James K. Yamartino Jr, 43, passed away unexpectedly May 29th,
2023. He was born on Christmas Eve, 1979, in Midland Michigan to
Diane and James Yamartino. Jimmy attended Conway public schools
graduating high school in 1999 and continuing his education at Bryant
University in Smithfield, RI.
Jimmy worked in the restaurant industry and thrived in that
environment. He made his mark at many local businesses including
Delaney’s Hole in the Wall, The Red Parka Pub, Margarita Grill, The
Lobster Trap, Decade’s, and Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro. Jimmy was
the ultimate sports fanatic, rooting for the Miami Dolphins, Red Sox and
the Bruins. He enjoyed trolling Patriots fans, and always made sure to
tell everyone when the Patriots lost and the Dolphins won (fins up!). He
had a love for music. His favorite band EVER was Pearl Jam; attending
over 10 concerts with his best friend Jeff Boyer. He loved jamming out
to alternative rock like Nirvana, classic rock like Neil Young, and 90’s hip
hop. He was a natural performer and had no hesitation being on the
microphone; whether it was emceeing a fundraising event with the Red
Parka or singing with the band. He performed songs ranging from the
Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine and Cypress Hill. He never
turned down the opportunity to wear a costume or wig and dress up. A
true entertainer and comedian. He was so charismatic and had the
quickest wit. He could bring a smile to anyone's face. He made
everyone laugh even with his hilariously inappropriate humor. Jimmy
loved spending family vacations in Florida. He visited Fort Lauderdale
as a child and Naples, Florida to visit his parents in his adult years. He
always looked forward to the annual Santa’s Village trip and was the
first one to get on the rides even if he had to push his nieces and
nephews out of the way. Holidays were so important to him. Easter
baskets and egg hunts, stockings and Thanksgiving mashed potatoes
(no lumps!) were a necessity and always eaten while watching
Christmas Vacation. He was an amazing Uncle and enjoyed spending
time with his nieces and nephews. He loved animals especially his cat
Chester, parents dog Charlie Murphy and his dog Judge. Despite
struggles, he overcame some very hard things and loved his family
unconditionally.
Jimmy is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Kathryn (Jean)
and Charlie Curran. Paternal grandparents Ernest and Dorothy
Yamartino. His loving Uncle Mark, Uncle Chuck, and Cousin Mary.
He is survived by his father and mother, Jim and Diane and two sisters.
Kristine, her husband Rob Peterson and their children Callum, Elliana
and Camilla. Jim is also survived by his youngest sister Sandra, her
three children Brady, Dylan, Marley and Sandra’s fiancee Adam
Lanzilotti . Jimmy is also survived by his loving fiancee Maggie Flynn
and her family Kevin and Jen, Barbara and Alain. Jim left behind many
treasured aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A service of remembrance
will be held June 4th, 2023 from 2pm - 4pm at Furber and White
Funeral Home North Conway NH. There will be a private gathering for
immediate family to follow. A celebration of life will be planned at a later
date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Conway
Humane Society in his memory. If you or anyone you know might be
struggling with anxiety, depression or addiction please call or text *988.
