James R. "Dick" Twombly, 94, of Center Conway died July 12, 2012 at Mineral Springs in North Conway. Born in North Conway, the son of Willis and Rachel (Seavey) Twombly, he had been a lifelong resident of Mt. Washington Valley and had spent winter's in Sanford, Florida many years.
Mr. Twombly had been a dairy farmer for twenty-five years and more recently he had been a building contractor for twenty years.
The family includes three sons, Richard V. Twombly and his wife Susan and Sherman L. Twombly, both of East Conway and Guy E. Twombly and his wife Hilda of Texas; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, his sister, Joanne Campbell of Madison and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Smith) Twombly in 2011 and seven siblings, John R. Twombly, Sherman E. Twombly, Marion Gagnon, Raymond Twombly, Robert Twombly, Helen Smith and Mary Chase.
Private graveside services will be held in the North Conway Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
