James R. Illsley

James (Reginald) Illsley,III Reggie was born at the old memorial Hospital to James R and Dorothy (Ridlon) Illsley, Jr on 2/13/1950. He Passed away on 3/11/2025 at the age of 75. Reggie was a hard worker, but he also enjoyed life. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger days. He peddled his bike at the age of 12 - 14 to deliver The Grit NewsPaper. After graduation in 1969, he went to Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He traveled home to work at Bumblebees gas station. He would return to S. Portland and pay rent of $20 per week. Once he graduated SMVTI He built several houses in the valley. He also groomed snow at Black Mountain for 19 years. He then went on to Wildcat to continue grooming snow for 30 more years. Wildcat made a video called “Grooming with Reggie”, Once his mother became unable to continue to run Green Meadow Camping Area, Reggie took over the family business for 25 years before retiring. Reggie was in the Bartlett Fire Department for about 30 years and was the Assistant Chief at one time. Reggie is predeceased by his brother Philip in 1972; his mother, Dorothy in 1993; his father, James in 2002; his son, Daniel in 2007; and the mother of his children in 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rose. His son Steven and his two step sons, Patrick and Adam Haley Haley and 7 grandchildren Tatum and Maggie Illsley, Ryan Stevens, Renee,Dustin Dylan and Hermione Haley. Visiting hours are on March 23rd from 3-5pm at Furber Funeral Home. Funeral is at Glen Baptist Church on march 24th at 11:00. A gathering will take place at Glen Fire Station after Reggies funeral. Burial in the Spring and a Celebration of Life will be at Green Meadow Camping Area. In lieu of flowers make donations to Bartlett/ Jackson Rescue PO box 422 Glen, NH 03838.
