Henry (Walter) Henley, 85, of 25 Hunting Ridge Road in Center Conway died October 1, 2012 at his home after a long illness. Born in Franklin, MA, the son of Henry Walter Henley and Lillian (Boyle) Parmenter, he had lived in Portland, ME prior to moving to Center Conway.
Walter attended Falmouth (ME) High School and at the age of 17 he got a job with the Nabisco Company as a laborer. Later he worked in Motel Management from Maine to Florida prior to retiring back to Portland.
When Mr. Henley became ill he moved to Center Conway to be cared for by his niece, Wendy Hanson and Mary Stuart, Brenda Mann, Sandra Stuart, Tammy Jo Smith and Janice Tripp. Thank you for your help making his last days memorable.
The family includes seven siblings, Gertrude Parmenter Stuart of Center Conway, Leroy Parmenter of Hiram, ME, Lena Parmenter Butters of Stow, ME, Arthur Parmenter of North Fryeburg, ME, Clifford Parmenter of Fryeburg, ME, William Parmenter of North Fryeburg, ME, Carol Parmenter Smith of Stow, ME and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the US.
He is predeceased by six siblings, Kay Henley, Ida Henley, Gordon Henley, Ralph Henley, Harrison Henley all from Nova Scotia and Russell Parmenter of Boothbay, ME.
There will be no visiting hours. Graves services will be held later in the Forest City Cemetery in South Portland, ME at the convenience of the family.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
