Henry Bourgeois Obituary

Chocorua, NH - Mr. Henry J. Bourgeois, of Chocorua, NH, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH. He was 90.
Henry was born on March 23, 1922 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Edmond Bourgeois and Cecile (Bourgeois) Dupuis. He honorably served his country as a corporal in the Canadian Army during World War II.
At the onset of World War II, and at the young age of 17, Henry volunteered to serve in the Canadian Army. He continued to service his country for five years and was decorated with several honorable medals. He rose to the rank of Corporal and was in the first wave of combat to land in Normandy, France on D-Day and then marched on to Berlin, Germany. After returning from the war, Henry met and married his sweetheart, Odette Gauvin, and later they moved to Waltham, Massachusetts before retiring to Chocorua, New Hampshire.
Henry's legacy was his work. He was a well-respected cabinetmaker, carpenter and builder; a master of his trade. He enjoyed his work tremendously, and has left his excellent workmanship in many homes including family, friends and neighbors. He was always ready to lend his helpful hand to those who needed his craftsmanship. He loved to create and build things out of wood. After retirement Henry spent many hours in his workshop called "Henry's Place," creating birdhouses, tables, furniture, and dollhouses. He always had a project underway. All who knew and loved him will miss him.
He leaves his beloved wife, Odette (Gauvin) Bourgeois after 65 loving years of marriage. He was loved, adored and highly thought of by his children; Laurie Bourgeois and his wife, Maizie, Donald Bourgeois, Dorine Regan and Charles Koehl, Ginette Morrissey, and Ann Bourgeois and her husband, Joel Jolicoeur. He was cherished by his grandchildren; Michael Bourgeois and his wife, Christine, Lisa Campana and her husband, Adam, Leanne Bourgeois and her wife, Nancy Bussieres, Marc Bourgeois, Joseph Bourgeois and his
