Gregory George, 63, passed away on February 13, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH. He was born on July 19, 1960, to Donald George and Elizabeth Wright Hardy George.
Greg led a life filled with love, humor, and hard work. He loved photography and spent many hours in the darkroom developing film. In high school, Greg worked every weekend in the timing shack at the top of Nastar shack at Cranmore Mountain, worked on the antique cars at Storyland in the summer, and began his career at North Conway Country Club when he was 16. Greg graduated from Kennett High School in 1978 and continued on to graduate from Babson College with a degree in Business in 1982. He was a masterful Golf Course Superintendent, dedicating 44 years to North Conway Country Club. His passion for problem-solving was evident in the joy he found while at the course.
A devoted husband, Greg shared 40 years with Sandra Hammond George. Together, they created a loving home and raised two children, Emily and Tanner.
Greg will most be remembered for his quiet demeanor, passion for his career, sense of humor, wit, kindness, and generosity. Greg touched the lives of those around him and was always willing to lend a hand. Friends and family will always remember Greg to be the type of man to finish a round of chemotherapy and be on a tractor only an hour later.
Greg is survived by his wife, Sandra George, daughter, Emily George Beliveau and her husband James Beliveau, and son, Tanner George. In addition to being a father, Greg was a beloved Poppy to his granddaughter Eloise and granddaughter Georgia, who is due this summer. He is also survived by his Mother, Elizabeth George-Hussey; Mother-in-law, Evelyn Porter; his siblings, sister, Jennifer Perkins, brother, Jeffrey George and wife, Julie George and brother, Timothy George and wife, Kerri George. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Greg is predeceased by his father, Donald L. George.
