George Abbott Jr. Obituary

George Stanley Abbott Jr. Passed away at his home in East Conway on July 1, 2026. George was born on March 2, 1969 to George and Carol Abbott of Conway NH. He grew up on Mill St. (now Hobbs St.) in Conway. He graduated from Kennett High School in 1987. In high school he took an interest in Machining and taught himself the trade. Soon out of school he started Abbott Machine Co. on Bald Hill Rd. in Albany. His business grew and in 1995 he built a new shop in East Conway. Over the years his reputation grew to be one of the best Machinists in the Valley. Between him and his long time friend Rod Henry, together they could fix almost anything. George was a perfectionist at everything he did. He was an excellent welder as well so his brother gave him the nickname "Sparky". He could always be found on the weekends helping his dad and brother with different projects. He loved anything mechanical, especially construction equipment. He would own a few machines over the years just as a hobby. He loved Cranes and ended up owning one for a few years. He had dreams of starting his own Crane business but due to health problems it never materialized. He stayed running his machine shop until his passing. George had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. He could make you laugh in any situation. He would help anybody that needed it. He loved his friends and family deeply. He was never married and never had children. He was predeceased by his father, George S. Abbott Sr. in 2021. He is survived by his mother Carol H. Abbott, 78, of Westminster, SC, his brother James A. Abbott, 58, of Silver Lake, NH. and several Step Sisters. There will be a graveside service for George Jr. at the Conway Village Cemetery on Saturday July 11th at 10AM. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name can be made to the Center Conway Fire Dept
