Ellen Green

Ellen S. Green, 99, of Conway, passed away from cancer on Monday May 14, 2012 at Mineral Springs Care and Rehab of North Conway. She was born September 7, 1912 at her childhood home on High Street in Silver Lake.
Ellen attended Madison schools through high school. She worked at various jobs such as waitressing, the Hurd Heel Mill (Conway), and as a dishwasher in the old Kennett High School in Conway.
Ellen was married for 62 years to Andrew W. Green, who died in 1994. She lived at their home on Pleasant Street in Conway for over sixty years.
She is survived by sisters Beverly Graves of Madison and Rita Colcord of Madison, brother Jesse Shackford of Madison, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Andrew, her daughter, Rita E. Yeaton of Pensacola Florida, brothers Joe, Mayhew, and Loren, and sisters Betty Lyman, Mildred Baker, and Cornelia Comer.
At Ellen's request there will be no funeral services or visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 200 PM in the Conway Village Cemetery, followed by a family gathering at the home of Sheryl Chase on Farrington Avenue, Conway. In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate to their favorite charity in Ellen's name.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of the arrangements.
