Her beauty will live on through her adored grandchildren Brett, Brenden, Kirsten, Jennifer, Kelly, Ben, Grace, Rick and her 8 great grandchildren who will forever carry her heart . Elaine was born in 1934 in North Conway, NH and spent her early years in Center Conway, NH where she attended Pine Tree School. She attended St. Mary’s Grammar & High School in Lynn, MA graduating in 1952 and began work as a stenographer at Cochrane Steam Engineering in Boston, MA until her marriage to Dick Whyte in 1956. She returned to work in 1978, working in the Wayland, MA School System and then for the Town of Weston, MA. Elaine’s life with Dick and their 4 children spanned between FL, MA, CT, RI, NH as well as abroad in England. She always made a home and friendships wherever their lives brought them. She eventually retired with Dick at their Center Conway, NH and Tavares, FL homes. During retirement, Elaine and Dick enjoyed pheasant shooting in Cornwell England, Wooden Boat and Classic Race Boat Associations in NH and FL. She enjoyed being a part of Vintage car shows and loved traveling in their RV. While at home in Tavares, FL she loved to spend time with her friends – knitting, needlepoint, playing bridge, entertaining and cruising on Lake Dora in their boats. She was a Junior Master in her FL duplicate bridge club. In New Hampshire, she enjoyed being a member of the Conway Garden Club, Conway Red Hat Society and the Conway Beach Club. She lived a long and abundant life, loved by many and was most happy in the company of her family and friends. Arrangements were made through Furber Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
