Debra E. Prince, 49, of Elizabeth City, NC died June 18, 2012 at her home following a long bout with cancer. Born in Germany, she grew up in Pennsylvania and lived in Cape Cod for several years prior to moving to Elizabeth City, NC in 2002.
Mrs. Prince had been a pharmacy tech in Pennsylvania and Cape Cod for several years; she had also been a licensed insurance agent.
Debbie was an avid gardener and enjoyed crafts including knitting, crocheting and sewing. She also had a great sense of humor and a zest for life.
The family includes her husband, James M. Prince, Sr. of Elizabeth City, NC; two daughters, Heather Nock and her husband William of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Kimberly Gaudette and her husband Randy of Tamworth; her daughter-in-law, Kara Prince of Elizabeth City, NC; seven grandchildren, Owen Nock, Taylor, Ava, Emma and Stella Gaudette, Demitri Morgan and Jordan Prince; her parents, Robert and Wanda Porr of Palmyra, PA; three brothers, Steven Young and his wife Nadine of Wilksboro, PA, Stanley Long and his wife Pam of Kansas City, MO and Randy Porr and his wife Patty of Rehoboth, DE; three sisters, Donna Bradley and her husband Dale of Mt. Joy, PA, Denise Reed and her husband Bruce of Stevens City, VA and Rhonda Baer and her husband Matt of Kansas City, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, James Michael Prince, Jr., in 2011.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday June 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be in the North Conway Cemetery surrounded by family and over looking the Valley.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral in North Conway.
