Dana Allen Gorham, age 59 of Center Conway, NH died suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2010 in his new 'cottage.' Dana was born in Fall River, MA. He was the son of the late Allen H. Gorham and Eleanor E. Gorham of Somerset, MA.
Dana's life began in Fall River on April 12, 1951. His family soon moved to Somerset, MA where he grew up enjoying life in a small town. He loved playing sports all through his school years. His favorite sport was baseball. As a little leaguer, Dana's father was the coach of his team. When Dana got his driver's license, he purchased his first Harley Davidson motorcycle; this was the beginning of his 'love affair' with riding. He always looked forward to Laconia Bike Week, as well as riding over the Kanc and on back roads. In March of '73, he and his 'soul mate,' Lindelle, married and had a son, Adam, who was the joy of his life. As a family, they enjoyed ten years living in Somerset until 1983 when they moved to North Conway, NH to begin a new adventure. They partnered with Lindelle's family in owning/operating the Moat View Terrace Campground. While it was difficult leaving behind his family and life long friends in Somerset, Dana kept in regular contact with them over the years. While in North Conway, he was employed as a carpenter for Glen Builders where he made many friends during his ten year tenure. Dana's last adventure was planning the construction of the new 'cottage' where he and Lindelle would live - right next door to Adam, Jennifer, and his 'Little Nipper.' Moving into their new home was a dream come true for Dana and Lindelle, even though Dana's time there was cut very short.
Dana is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lindelle Gorham; his son, Adam and his wife, Jennifer, and his granddaughter, Jeweliana ("Nipper") Gorham of Center Conway; a sister, Cynthia Donnelly and her husband, William of North Kingstown, RI; and brother-in-law, Jay Howard and his wife, Tony of East Conway.
