Constance (Connie) was born at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH on June 5, 1934, to parents Beulah and Harry Seavey. She passed away on November 10, 2024, at 90 years old. North Conway was the center of her universe. She lived there until she was 65 and then only moved as far as Conway. She held many good jobs throughout her life. Babco, Carroll Reed Ski Shops, Cranmore Mtn., White Mtn Bank and The Gibson Center. She retired at 78 from Gibson Center but continued to lunch there with friends as well as dine at night with her friends Evelyn and Cathy until her move to the Merriman House. She was very content at the Merriman House because it was in North Conway. At the start of her declining health, she always asked “was she in North Conway?” She raised her children, Philip and Ann, with the help of her parents. She was a single parent in the 50s She always taught her children that honesty and hard work were most important. They always had love in their lives. Her favorite title was Nan, and her favorite people were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved camping with them and especially loved holidays when they were all with her. Losing Philip in 2019 was her hardest challenge. After Covid hit the valley, she decided she needed to be around more people. Her brother Rod and sister Barbara were living at Merriman House, so she went there to be with them. Although she often found it difficult to let others do for her, she realized it was a good decision. Besides her son Philip Seavey and her parents, she was predeceased by her husband O. Franklin Smith, siblings Barbara Bryant, John Seavey, Roderick Seavey and Neal Seavey, 2 nephews Sherman Bryant and Jonathan Seavey She is survived by her daughter Ann (Chris Marchioni) Granddaughter Sarah Toomey (Paul) of Tolland, Ct, Grandson Ryan Seavey (Liz) and Granddaughter Alyson Seavey (Jose) of South Portland, Maine. Great grandchildren Coleman Toomey and Harper Toomey both of Tolland, Ct. Daughter in law Elise Seavey of South Portland, Me. She was also survived by nieces and nephews. Benny Jesseman, Mark Seavey, Paul Seavey, Kim Seavey, Todd Seavey Sunshine, Sandra Seavey and their spouses and children. She also leaves many lifelong friends. Her family can never thank the staff at Merriman House enough for the outstanding care and compassion she had while there. We are so grateful to All of them. Arrangements were made through Furber Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In lieu of Flowers we ask that you send contributions to the Merriman House or the Gibson Center, both in North Conway, NH. There will be services held this Saturday, November 16,2024 at Furber Funeral Home at 2 pm.
