Carl Thibodeau Obituary


Carl L. Thibodeau, 82, of Albany passed away November 22, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway.
He was born in West Ossipee on September 7, 1930 to Carroll and Ruth (Browne) Thibodeau at the home of his grandfather, Olin Knox.
He attended schools in Conway, and then enlisted in the Navy in April of 1948 during the Korean Conflict. He served on the USS Jeffers Mine Sweeper until July 1950. He married Irene Kowalski, January 28, 1950, and together they raised two children. He worked on construction most of his life and for A.J. Coleman & son as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for 25 years.
He was a 25-year member of the Conway Village Fire Department, serving many of those years as Deputy Fire Chief. He was a 50-year member of the Improved Order of Red Men, a member of the Odd Fellows, the North Conway American Legion Post # 95, the Friday Night Poker Club, the Monday Night Pitch Club, the Bea's Café Cemetery Club and a founding member of the Mt. Washington Valley Snowmobile Club.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene (Kowalski) Thibodeau; his son, Carl J. Thibodeau and his wife Cynthia of Conway; his daughter, Julie A. Hunt and her husband William of Wolfeboro; five grandchildren, Terri Garnett and her husband John, Audrey Thibodeau and her partner Shawn Berry, T.J. Leach and his wife Jennifer, Joseph Thibodeau and his fiancée Gina Shane and Jennifer Thibodeau and her partner Shawn Brett; five great-grandchildren, Autumn and Naomi Johnson, Andrew and Dylan Leach and Taylor Brett; his sister, Gail Currier of Conway; his brother, John (Jack) Thibodeau of Bellingham, WA and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Gene Thibodeau of San Clemente, CA and his brother, Glen Thibodeau of Albany.
Calling hours are Sunday November 25, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Funeral services will be held Monday November 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Conway Village Congregational Church in C
