Barbara Louise (Knox) Reddy, 90, of North Conway, NH, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 4, 2025, with her family at her bedside. She was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Knox. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 25 years, Daniel W. Reddy, her brother Bruce R. Knox, and her birth mother, Alberta Knox Emerson. Barbara grew up and attended school in Conway, graduating from Kennett High School in 1953. She then pursued a career at Donelan’s Supermarket for over 50 years, serving as the controller. She shared her passion for music throughout her life. During her youth, she played a wide range of music, from church music to pop hits and boogie songs. She passed on her love of music to her grandkids, supporting them through music lessons and attending all their concerts. She always played recordings of their music and added pictures of their recent performances to her digital frame. Barbara loved having company at her home in North Conway. Though she would often muse about needing her alone time, visits would usually conclude with the sentiment “Hope you come back soon.” Her children and grandchildren would frequently bring their friends and loved ones up to visit. She ensured that everyone had a good night’s rest and a fresh pot of hot coffee in the morning. You could always find her curled up in her living room chair, reading the Conway Daily Sun. Nature and the outdoors were always a significant part of Barbara’s life. She played tennis and golf with her husband and skied with her friends and many generations of family. As she grew older, she continued to stay active by taking walks through downtown North Conway and Whitaker Woods. She was a patient and skilled photographer; her photographs of Mount Washington and the neighborhood bears, as well as her beloved wild birds, cover her walls. She was the loving mother of Bruce Fox & his wife, Dr. Nancy Pratt of Hopkinton, MA, and Richard Fox & his wife, Janet Testa-Fox of Hollis, NH. Barbara was the proud grandmother of Alexandra Littlefox & her wife, Samantha Littlefox; Brandon Fox; and Emily Fox, and the great-grandmother of Brennan Littlefox. She is also survived by her five loving sisters-in-law and their families, as well as many friends and former coworkers. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 16th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Service of Prayers and Remembrances at 12:15 PM at Furber & White Funeral Home, 2925 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH. Burial will follow at the Conway Village Cemetery. Instead of flowers, Barbara would want you to do something nice for yourself and each other.
