Anne Marie Pillion passed at the age of 93 on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in North Conway, New Hampshire. Anne was a beautiful, wide eyed and happy baby born in Boston, Massachusetts and adopted as an infant, living in the Boston area into adulthood. Anne had a beautiful, loving, and positive spirit throughout her entire life. At the age of 19, Anne met the love of her life, Fred Pillion, who was much beloved by his parents, ‘Nan’ and ‘Bub’. They became the foundation of Anne’s new loving family. Anne and Fred settled into a home built by Fred and his father in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Both Anne and Fred were only children, and they both wanted to have many children of their own. They got their wish, six children in seven years. They loved each of their children equally and unequivocally, as did Nan and Bub, who lived close by. Anne and Fred began taking their young children north to ski in the winters, and soon bought a piece of land on Ridge Road in Jackson, New Hampshire, where they built a log cabin. Their weekends, holidays, and summers were spent there. Everyone learned as a family to ski at Black Mountain, where they spent many happy winters. Anne and Fred also enjoyed their summers hiking with their children in the White Mountains, and they both spent many years playing tennis at the Dana Place and Jackson Tennis Clubs. Anne served as a secretary at her children’s school, Lincoln-Sudbury High School in Massachusetts, where her favorite part of the job was interacting with the students. As their children grew and graduated, Anne and Fred retired full time to Jackson, bringing Nan and Bub to live with them in their new home on Eagle Mountain Road. There they enjoyed hosting family and friends over the years, their home always warm and welcoming. Anne’s generous and energetic spirit was evident to all who knew her. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred, and by their sons Jeff, Gary, and Scott. She is survived by her daughters Janet Anne Pillion and wife Hadley Champlin of Intervale, NH, Catherine Farrell and husband Donald of Hanson, MA, and her son Rick Pillion of Jackson, NH and partner Gail Tremblay, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anne lived at the Merriman House in North Conway for the past two years, where her family witnessed, and deeply appreciated, the wonderful Merriman House staff for their loving and attentive care of Anne. On Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Furber Funeral Home in North Conway, NH, there will be visitation hours from 11:00am to 12:30pm, with a memorial service at 12:30pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Jackson Village Cemetery in Jackson, NH, whereafter, all are invited to join Anne’s family at the Shannon Door Pub in Jackson for food and drink to help celebrate their wonderful mother.
