Alice J. Smith, 86, of North Conway died Sunday August 29, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway. Born in Bartlett, the daughter of Roy and Isabel (Roberts) James, she was a lifelong resident of North Conway.
Mrs. Smith had been a waitress at the former Russell Cottages, Old Colony Restaurant and the Eating House, all of North Conway. Alice had also been a Certified Practical Nurse at Memorial Hospital in North Conway for 28 years, she had worked at the former Heritage NH in Glen for a few years and prior to retiring she worked at Dansk in North Conway.
The family includes two daughters, June Addario and her husband Richard of Gorham and Joan M. Twombly of North Conway; five grandchildren, Kim Livingston of Conway, Kate Mejia of Bronx, NY, Angela McDonough of Berlin, Tony Addario of Gorham and Christopher Addario of Mooresville, NC; twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Karl W. James of Florida; a sister-in-law, Kathy B. James of North Conway and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph E. Smith, in 1984 and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway with the Rev. Robert Novak, officiating. Burial will be in the North Conway Cemetery in North Conway. There will be no visiting hours.
