Alice Grindle Obituary


Alice L. Grindle, 93, of Naples, FL died June 24, 2012 at the Bentley Village in Naples following a lengthy illness. Born in Hanover, the daughter of Harold and Edith (Miller) Gordon, she had lived in Conway over 50 years prior to moving to Naples in 1998 and she spent the summers in the valley up until 2003.
Mrs. Grindle graduated from Hanover (NH) High School and the University of New Hampshire.
She and her late husband owned and operated the former Western Auto Store in Conway and also the former Conway Furniture Store.
Alice was a member and former deacon of the Conway Village Congregational Church.
The family includes her daughter, Susan G. Sanborn of Alton; four grandchildren, Karen Turnbow and Amy Muise, both of Taylor, SC, Joshua Sanborn of Milton Mills and Sarah Sanborn of Pueblo, CO and five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph L. Grindle in 2007 and her son, Peter G. Grindle in 1988.
Graveside services will be held Saturday June 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Conway Village Cemetery in Conway. Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
