Albert DiSilva Obituary


Albert "AJ" DiSilva, 62, of Intervale died April 30, 2010 at his home. Born in Cambridge, MA, the son of Albert and Gertrude (Galvin) DiSilva, he grew up in Somerville, Ma and moved to North Conway in the early 1980's.

AJ graduated from Somerville High School in 1966 and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He had worked for Polaroid Corp. in Cambridge, MA for many years before moving to NH and operating Krystal Farms. In the late 1990's he and his son, Albert J. DiSilva III, started DiSilva Heating. He was known for his dedication and quality workmanship.

Mr. DiSilva was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 7575 and the Mt. Washington Valley Old Car Club.

AJ had a love for classic cars and motorcycles especially his 1966 Chevy Nova. He was an avid bass fisherman and some of his favorite times were spent fishing on his boat with his children and grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed in the valley by all his friends, family and dog "baby".

The family includes his children, Valerie Smith and her husband Jim of Bartlett, Christie DiSilva and Denene Pelkey and her husband John all of Lee, MA, Albert J. Collins of Broussard, LA, Albert J. DiSilva III and his wife Kendra of Tamworth and Amanda DiSilva-Noyes and her husband Jimmy of Bartlett; ten grandchildren, Ashley Collins, Vanessa Smith, Taylor DiSilva, Bree-Anna Pelkey, Sierra DiSilva, Sarah Smith, Brittany Pelkey, Madison DiSilva, Colin Noyes and Dominic Noyes and a sister, Marsha Saulnier and her husband John of Somerville, MA.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday May 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
