George A. Yeaton, 74, of Conway N.H., passed away January 9, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in N. Conway, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Conway, May 31, 1936 to Merton and Nettie (Lombard) Yeaton, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Kennett High School in 1954 For the past 54 years, George owned and operated his own electrical business, Yeaton’s Electrical Service, retiring in 2009. George was a member of the Conway Village Congregational Church, having served as a deacon and trustee in past years and was the general of the “Building of the Walls” campaign. He was a member and captain of the Conway Fire Dept. for 11 years, a charter member of the Elks, and a member of the Red Men for many years. George is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lois R. (Wilson) Yeaton, 4 children; Mitchell Yeaton and his wife Gloria of Alpharetta, GA, Lorraine Thompson of Denver, NC, Lincoln Yeaton and his wife Nicole of Keene, NH, and Stephanie Maxfield and her husband Jeff of Conway, NH, and 3 stepchildren; Michael Sonia of Gloucester, MA, Kathy Wilson-Ciulla and husband Larry of Gloucester, MA, and Cindy Wilson of Conway, NH. George also leaves 10 grandchildren; Michael, Ryan and Cassie Yeaton, Sky Taylor, Danny and Josh Maxfield, Anthony and Jessica Giacalone, and Jonathan and Dana Saxby, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. George is also survived by one brother, Raymond Yeaton and 5 sisters; Dorothy Garland, Eleanor Sutton, Ruth Tuttle, Marion Bickford and Barbara Bray. He is predeceased by 2 brothers; Merton and Leonard Yeaton and 3 sisters; Arlene Nason, Doris Lombard and Anna Orr. George also leaves his beloved dog, Misty. Visiting hours will be Friday, Jan. 14, from 6 to 8 pm at Furber and White Funeral Home in N. Conway. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at the Conway Village Congregational Church in Conway. Donations may be made in George’s memory to the Conway Village Congregational Church, PO Box 333, Conway, NH 03818. George’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Memorial Hospital for their kindness and excellent care.
